Evaluating Anti-virus Software for Ease of Use: Norton AntiVirus 2002

by Lee Hudspeth
December 20, 2001

I've written extensively about Norton AntiVirus products, most recently about Norton AntiVirus 2002. It was a problematic experience in November 2001 with Norton's update/subscription service that got me thinking about what the most important "ease of use" characteristics would be for any anti-virus program. Since then I have been evaluating anti-virus programs with my ease of use criteria to see how they perform. In each case I have written an article about the program, and summarized the results in a detailed table on a supplemental page. However, in the case of Norton AntiVirus 2002, I felt that I didn't need to write yet another article, and I simply put my evaluation into the table itself. To see my evaluation of Norton AntiVirus 2002, click here.
